Thanks to Abby and her sudden discovery and thus interest in Katy Perry and Justin Beaver (I like the way she pronounces it!!) I too have Beiber Fever! “Mommy can we listen to Katy Perry please…please…Mom, please put Katy Perry on the music thing…Mommy, please!…Can you hear me?”
I have tried telling her several times that I am not able to select the songs we listen to in the car, the way I do in our house. We have a mini-van for crying out loud!!! But everyday she asks me the same string of questions over and over and over again.
Finally, by the 4th day of this drill, I just decided it was best to stay quiet for the 5 minute commute from the school to our house.
All of the sudden I find myself singing about how, “you make me feel like I’ve been locked out of heaven, for so long….” Thank you Bruno Mars for that last one. And I love love love it when Abby sings along with Adam Lavine in his song for him to “move your jacket, you gotta move your jacket” while the real words are something like “you got moves like Jagger”. Every time I hear her sing this particular song, tears are streaming down my face because it is so stinking cute…and she is into it for sure! She sings at the top of her lungs and she is shaking those tiny little legs and arms every which way. I am just standing in the background bent over and falling in love with her all over again. Don’t get me wrong I am still a Beach Fossils girl all the way, but something about pop music makes everyone in this house want to shake our groove thang!
Phoebe likes Bruno Mars.
Her favorite song is ‘just the way you are‘. She puts her hands in the air and turns around and around. Cecilia even gets into it too…how could she not, we crank it to the upper decibels in this house. She will put one hand in the air and bounce her head. She’s got rhythm.
2013 is proving to be a good year for us…two birthdays out of 6 (we like to include our furry side) down, we nailed the ‘who can visit the ER first in 2013’ medal, NAILED IT!!, and finally, we made a visit to the beach swim suit clad in the middle of January and even got a little sunburned! A true first for all of us!
I don’t know if I say it enough, or if how I write it conveys exactly how I feel, but I
LOVE WHERE WE LIVE!!!!!!!!
